Has been practising yoga for about 30 years and teaching for 23 years. Qualified as a yoga therapist in 2001. Finds that in yoga therapy her medical knowledge and yoga experience come together well. She specialises in teaching yoga to people with multiple sclerosis and with cancer. Also has an interest in yoga for women's reproductive health (menstrual and menopausal conditions, inferility, etc.)and yoga for asthma and other respiratory problems. Gives yoga therapy classes for people with cancer at the Macmillan Butterfly Centre, Epsom Hospital, Epsom, Surrey. Yoga therapy classes for people with multiple sclerosis at the Surrey, Sutton & Croydon MS Therapy Centre; General yoga classes in Sutton, Ashtead and Carshalton. As a yoga therapist feels that yoga concerns itself with the whole person not just his or her symptoms. Yoga should instill a sense of wellbeing and peace, and if a person leaves one of her classes (ordinary or therapy)feeling better than when the arrived she feels she has done her job well. |
